An additinonal international assignment for Tarakçıoğlu

Mr. Murat Tarakçıoğlu, Chairman of the Cargill Foods Turkey, has recently succeeded Eivind Djupedal, assuming Cargill Foods Middle East & Africa Region Business Development role in addition to his current position.

The management of the Middle East & Africa Region Business Development function by high performing Cargill Foods Turkey is a significant step leading to a more active Cargill in this geography. This appointment was characterized as active implementation of Cargill Turkey team’s vision “to ensure profitable growth until the year 2015 in the fields of starch, sweeteners and food stuff in nationwide Turkey and neighbouring states led by innovative solutions and the highly efficient labor force”, and a genuine indication of the well founded confidence in Cargill Turkey Team.

About Murat Tarakçıoğlu

Murat Tarakçıoğlu was born in Istanbul in 1970. Graduated from Saint-Benoit High School in 1989, Tarakçıoğlu was accepted to the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Bosporus University in 1990 and graduated in 1994. He has a degree in Management, and is fluent in English and French. Murat Tarakçıoğlu is married and father to two children.

His professional experience includes the following:

• Ernst & Young Audit Company

He was employed as an Assistant Auditor in 1994 and worked for 2 years in this company.

• Cargill Tarım ve Gıda Sanayi Ticaret A.Ş.

Murat Tarakçıoğlu began his career at Cargill Turkey as an Assistant Finance Manager in 1996, and appointed as the Finance Manager in 1998. He was promoted to Business Unit’s Finance Director in charge of all operations of the corn and starch group in Turkey in 2001. He assumed the Trade Director role in Cargill in 2004. Tarakçıoğlu was appointed as the “First Turkish General Manager  & Chairman of the Board of Directors” as of 1 July 2005, and still continues to function as the General Manager of the Starch & Sweeteners Division and Chairman of the Cargill Tarım ve Gıda Sanayi Ticaret A.Ş. Most recently; he has also assumed Cargill Foods Middle East & Africa Region Business Development role in addition to his current position.

Memberships:

• Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen Association (TUSIAD)

He has been a member of TUSIAD since 2005

• Starch and Glucose Producers’ Association (NUD)

He has been elected as a Member of the Board of NUD as of 2001 and still holds this position.

• Bursa Industrialists’ and Businessmen Association (BUSIAD)
